Hello,
I have noticed some increased activity on my blog which is wonderful to see.
My goal is to inform other families before they decide on Leaside Revera – assisted living units and provide a outlet to vent my dissatisfaction as a coping mechanism.
Please note I am not commenting on the apartment living section, but the section where there are dining rooms on each floor, most residents here are either wheelchair bound or need significant personal care.
I also will answer any questions, and if you want to make a comment about your experience at Leaside positive or negative with your consent I will post it. I am an excellent navigator for elder care and can trouble shoot through most situations.
I am sure there are many with positive experiences at Leaside Revera. Wish I was one of these families.
My goal is to warn residents and family that the care is minimal, and if financially able to have your loved one have an excellent care experience, you will have to provide extra care daily to keep loved ones safe and cared for. Care ranges from monthly from just under 5000 to I suspect over 8000 a month.
If a resident or family is on a budget, you will be disappointed in the cost of care and the level of care you receive and because you probably have no extra funds to higher extra care, you will soon see the lack of quality care.
The Leadership at this Leaside Revera is substandard. Be warned.
Look at other facilities before you make your choice. Even another Revera (as they seem to own most retirement home spaces) may be better than Leaside Revera. My dissatisfaction is with this site alone and its leadership team who guide the care.
If private assisted living is a bridge to Long term Care…do your papers Asap, do not wait. LTC wait lists are long.
The care teams RN, RPN, personal support workers vary from looking pissed off and not engaged…today one looked right at me in xxx room but never said hello, but just glared at me. There are some care workers who do care and seem engaged but they are few and far between.
Leaside Revera doesn’t believe in continuity of care, as most are moved around to other units every 3-6 months from what I see. The care member may move to another unit to join a better team…I suspect xxx is on a problem unit where the team doesn’t work together and is more toxic that others.
How do I know this? I listen to how they chat to each other and engage with residents in general. Not many happy team members on the unit.
